The Dance of the Misunderstood

Updated on April 19, 2012

You see what you see

I see what I can

neither at peace

viewing a mirror

almost comprehending

almost in sync

feeling incongruity

nothing to do

keep on dancing

a friend is a friend

this world offers too few

maybe through the tango

foxtrot or swing

we will get the steps down

oh how we will move

I am up for the clumsy

it is what I expected

how about you?

One two three four

or was that an eight count?

who cares

just so long as the dance goes on

perfecting the motions

ignoring the stares.

Nellieanna I try to ring true if only for you.

PDXKaraokeGuy Thank you for enjoying and sharing it. There are few pleasures for a writer other then to be read and reread.

AudreyHowitt We who dance seem to know each other and the steps well enough to recognize them anywhere. It is a pleasure to meet yet another and communicate with you.

Nice analogy and appealingly presented, JF! Rings true.

Fennelseed And we keep the dance going. Even if we step on a few toes. along the way. I shall dance on and so will you. I wish you the best of music and partners.

tobusiness it happens in life and everything else. Each person who is kind enough to read your work proposes to be the next. I wish you the best and thanks for stopping by.

Sometimes we try so hard to get the steps right, we fail to feel the music and enjoy the dance, not unlike life.

      I love this.

I know this dance well, and that dance partner can become your best friend. The dance does go on, you get to know the moves over the years and the sync sorts its self out. Wonderful writing, dance on. My votes, best wishes and sharing.
