The Tune Of The Letter I Send You

Updated on October 21, 2010

Wouldn't It Be Great

If every time we wrote something our thoughts would be expressed with music

Every word could give a diferent sound

A new paragraph would start a new beat

We could have rythm to our words

We could have full orchestras playing

As if the words we type were some how connected with the passion we feel when writing them

Thats the  day I wait for

When my ideas come to life

They leap off the page and bring so much satisfaction

That when you are angry

You can feel the tension rising

The low tones that moan

When we are feeling better

We can hear our spirits rising

With the upbeat tempo

That moves us to new heights

When we feel like praying

The simple peacefulness of life in the open

Next to  a nearby meadow or spring

Hearing the sounds of music that are so peaceful and inspiring

When we have had a bad day

The mood swings from good to worse

The person reading our few empty lines with no pictures attached

Will have to use their imagination of what comes next

They can hear the words vibrate loud and clear

Each has a tone all of its own

What I like the best

Is a story of love and the amazing

You can feel the desire shaped into sounds

You can hear the sweetness of all that is beautiful

You can start off mellow and before you know it be singing at the top of your lungs

The words our no longer words

But a new work of art that has only recently begun

I hope when you read this

You are inspired and teased with anticipation

To a new world that has no hesistation

Just people who make it great

Others who enjoy life as it is

Those who make beauty from mere words

I wipe away my tears of sadness

I see the pain go away

Because I know if I write it

I will carry all my sad thoughts a little longer

I want to change my thinking

Understanding what I write is so important

It is an extension of me

When all others would just settle for legs and arms

I write about life that I see

When a blank piece of paper is before me

Then a few words come out

Like they were hidden behind a big puffy cloud and decided to jump out

I am lucky I have friends that read what I write

So my words don't sink into the page like quicksand and disappear forever

Poetvix We all could write different things and express the mood of our writings even farther with the music and words combined.I appreciate and feel so nice to be connected in different ways.

I love your comparison of poetry to music and I think it's a great one. Each makes us feel something deep inside. Great job!

Jagged Edge I thought I would like each line to fully express itself in the manner I wrote it.It explained how words that we write are not simply words on paper but much deeper than that.A sound that connects to words that carries the tone of the words we choose. If we were feeling happy our words would express that sound with every word typed. We are showing the beat the rythm of happiness. Then when unhappy you have a different feeling all together the tension and the low tones. Then I follow up by saying if our mood changes we can feel the change. Then I go on with my favorites like love and finding life amazing. If I write about sadness and unhappiness I carry those negative emotions in the direction of the pain and suffering. When the words hit the paper it is up to the writer to pick the right words to express the sound of time.I end with how words are connected to me like parts of my body. Thanks for your insight and comments well appreciated.Christopher Price With practice and more understanding how words interact with the thoughts I write I will see words flow easier and express my thoughts clearer.Thank you so much.

Words can flow and dance and sing from the page through our minds into our hearts.

Even punctuation plays its part, so what we have to say becomes the voice the reader hears in the tone, and with the emphasis, we wished to express.

Words are magic. Well chosen they touch us deeply.

The artist mixes them like colors on a palette and paints the pictures that form in our minds and we feel in our hearts.

Too many "writers" think they can dash off a mini-masterpiece without the consideration of all these things.

Your wish to make the words music is the first step in doing just that.

This poem was a good start.

      Write on.

You might pay attention to what each line offers to the aspects of the poem and figure out whether you want each line to fully express itself or half conceal what it expresses with shortened expressions.
