The Two Thrones

Updated on March 29, 2016

I got the idea of this poem because some years ago I played a video game that was called Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones. The game was about the two aspects of the same person. One aspect was pure and like god and the other one was the opposite of first one. Every human being has two aspects and both of them are enemies of each other. When one aspect is dominant the other one is not and vice versa.

The Two Thrones

I am god and the devil,

I am good and the bad,

The two aspects of a man.

Sometimes it snows and sometimes it rains.

Sometimes I love and

Sometimes I hate.

Sometimes I fall victim to false ego

And it is hard to let go.

Sometimes lust takes over

And love vanishes.

Sometimes greed surrounds me

And it is hard to break free.

Sometimes desire comes

And wisdom goes.

I may look fine on the outside

But the battle continues always on the inside.

Great poem describing the two sides of man- good and bad. It depends upon one's willpower to transcend the negative and win.

Yes. It's all very well done. Look for Sri Motta's book on Life's Struggle. Describes it so well. Great poem!

Yes,this is the exact situatioñ of every mortal here. Victory lies in transcendiñg duality. Nice poem.
