The Uncivil War ( in Haiku poetry)

Updated on October 11, 2014
Brighter days ahead when we all try our best.
Brighter days ahead when we all try our best.
The winds of change are now, for our nation.
The winds of change are now, for our nation.
A stormy time for our country
A stormy time for our country
The Civil War was truly uncivil.
The Civil War was truly uncivil.
What may lie, in our fondest wishes, upon each new horizon?
What may lie, in our fondest wishes, upon each new horizon?

That uncivil war,

The war between our fond states.

A losing attempt,

A restoring of these dates.

Great men did perish,

Against slavery, independence.

Wrong acts were performed,

To win worthy transcendence.

Their memories haunt,

Was sorrowful... to repent,

Those decent lives lost,

Souls to heaven, were each sent.

Now may we each say,

Those wrongs righted, to this day?

How may we restore,

Our flag... to fly high, once more?

We'll respect each face,

A part of our human race!

Give respect to all,

Our country, then to stand tall!

Whonu, if only it were so. I certainly pray all the turmoil and ugliness ends soon. I fear what may happen if it doesn't.

Bravewarrior, we must live each day as if it were our last and be thankful for all that we have.
