The Unicorn (Poetry by GalaxyRat)

Updated on June 27, 2017

I stood outside the water

A sunset beyond the trees

Reminded me of the blood of a martyr

and all I'd ever need.

Something silver galloped across the river

Tall and magical it seems

And the cold wind sent a shiver

down my spine and and down my clothes seems.

Then it looked at me with glowing eyes

And looked down the bank

And behind the creature the moon began to rise

and it made me consider my rank.

The unicorn began to ascend into the air

Flashing sparks all around

I wonder if I would care

if I had been that creature abound.

Thank you, Tamara. I was aiming for a dreamy feeling. Good to know I achieved it.

This is a pleasure to read, and makes me feel dreamy-er than normal. Love the rhythm of the rhyme!

Thanks Flourish. It's happy, but it's also good in my standards. Thanks for reading.

This may be the first unicorn poem I've read. I like it, Galaxy.
