The Unique Sound of Silence

You have buried me here.

To escape from my memory.

Where your eyes can't find me,

and my voice won't be there.

You have buried me here.

Where the lights are dim,

but still hurting my eyes.

Alone, waiting.

You have buried me here.

So your heart would be safe.

So your soul might find rest

without the sound of my voice.

You have buried me here.

In the back of your mind.

Where my scent can’t tempt you.

Where my face needs to hide.

You have buried me here.

Away from God's judgement.

Is the lie you tell yourself,

denying that you are guilty.

You have buried me here.

in your left breast pocket.

Close to your heart,

but yet, hidden in the dark.

And I will remain hidden here.

Consuming what is left of us.

Until my voice breaks you,

in a unique kind of torture.

You have buried me here.

Thinking you'll escape me.

But that's impossible my love,

In this silence, you'll hear me calling.

      Hi AnanHost:

You make a grave comment about live, love and lost

The left breast pocket is such a ghost

Dead, right and gone to that universal post

Grave words you make your toast

      Hi Erica!

Thank you for such a deep interpretation. You are right my dear.

Very haunting and yet I get the feeling that this is all of us. I could be wrong, but Consciousness tend to eat the back of our minds like loved ones who have a hold over us- they own us because they know us because they've had our memories, our joys and our pain, just like our Consciousness.

Anyhow that is what I got from it, no need for interpretation at all...and I like it very much. Keep writing!

Fantastic poetry! Wow - so relateable and powerful emotions with this. Honest and sincere. SO often we find out the heard way that we can not run from our own mind, heart and soul.

      Great poem

      ZOWIE!

This is deep, powerful, raw, and REAL!

isn't it sooo true - MEN (for the most part) think they can 'escape' reality by boxing it up and sticking it away..

but - we all know that never works - those niggling things always pop up to plague us later..

nice try tho, guy! sadly - everybody suffers..

      Beautiful work, my friend!
