The Vengeance of Billy Martin
Bullied From the Beginning
Chapter 1: Picked On As a Child
Billy woke up sweating and shaking. The 12-year old had been having nightmares since he was 5, when the physical and mental abuse began. He did nothing to deserve this treatment, however, he had to endure it. Since he could remember, abuse has been apart of his emotional and mental growth. Billy always felt like a roach, stepped on as soon as he was seen in the light. Always trying to please his daddy, when all he wanted to do was cry but, instead he knew better so, he bottled it up. He was a quiet kid and he kept to himself. William Martin, AKA, Billy was shy due to having a lazy eye. The lazy eye was not his fault, it just happened because, when he was three and kept crying, his father, struck his face with a closed fist, a hard punch. This punch was so hard, that it left one eye crooked. Billy hated mirrors for that reason. The mirror on his dresser in his bedroom was covered with photos printed from the internet of people with deformed facial features. "Life isn't fair", Billy mumbled. This was a reminder that he was not alone in being different. The thing is, Billy was always a decent, polite child, even if he was a little different but, the mean spirits in many people have come out to play with Billy's heart and more often than not, with no good reason at all.
Have you ever been bullied?
Billy vs. Dad
Chapter 2: Family Hatred
Billy Martin was an only child. His mother, Linda, worked at the local diner. Dexter, his father, worked long hours at a car manufacturing plant as a supervisor. Dexter drank a bunch and yelled at his wife and son all the time. If young Billy made a simple mistake, his father would wear him out with his belt. Billy hated his life and he often laid in his bed at night thinking of ways to end his own life. Even when he was playing with his cousins, Billy was always the "butt", of the joke. Scarface, Two-Face, and Leatherface, were just a few of his unwanted nicknames from his cousins. To make matters worse, his aunts thought the names were simply hilarious. "Why me, Why me", Billy exclaimed, as a snot bubble formed in the corner of his left nostril. This caused the kids to howl with laughter even louder. Billy ran into the house and locked himself in the bedroom. He felt like this was his only defense against them. He just hoped they would go home real soon.

Chapter 3: Depression Sets In
Billy has taken the verbal abuse from his classmates as long as he is going to. This situation, has reached a boiling point and poor fella, his life at home it is not much better, not even a little bit. One day, at school, Billy got tripped, and had his lunch tray knocked from his hands, then fell face first in the food tray. The entire time, the children laughed uncontrollably, at him. Teachers tried to regain control of the loud, obnoxious, unruly bunch. Some teachers noticed that the majority of their class had finished eating. They took the students back to class and allowed the teacher assistant to stay with the few students who had not finished eating. This, cut down on the noise in the lunch room. With the roaring of the laughter from the children subsiding, the teachers regained control. The lunchroom workers came out and helped Billy up and immediately shielded him from the other students so, they could not see his face. They immediately had him sit in a rolling chair and whisked him back to the kitchen's office to get him cleaned up. Miraculously, no food got on any of Billy's clothes. He literally, landed face first in the tray of food. There was concern that maybe he had a broken nose. At the time of the incident, there was a lot of swelling to the face and nose. The school nurse had him put an ice pack on the area to have the swelling go down.
Enough is enough! he thought, but, he kept his thoughts to himself and pouted. Billy is sick and tired of getting bullied or hurt five or six days per week and something had to give. Instead of talking over the things that were bothering or haunting him with a counselor, or a mentor, a teacher, the principal, school nurse or anyone else that has a leadership role, he kept it inside, as much as he could. One too many times though, he would break down and he would sit in the bathroom stall and put his face in his hands and balled. At times, Billy thought to himself, that if he just had one friend at all, he could handle his life but, the reality was, Billy was all alone even when in the company of people. He is well aware of it, and despises that fact. He does not know how to carry on a conversation very well and, he gets made fun of a lot for that. At his home though, there are not many things that are done correctly when it comes to Billy, and there is certainly no one in the home who really cares to take the time to talk to him or ask him how his day was. Even the simplest of conversations may have made Billy turn out differently, than what he did. His mom, nor his dad seemed to have much interest in him. For one, they worked a lot. So, when they did arrive home, they were usually tired. Billy was more or less, left to raise himself.
Chapter 4: Sadness Becomes Anger
Many, many years of tears have finally made young Billy grow up hard and fast. The tears are now dried up and nothing remains except, someone with paranoia, complete anger and hatred in his heart. No one knows the pain that he feels inside. He keeps it hidden very well. This anger is like a volcano, about to explode. He does not have anything to channel his negative energy in to. Billy, now into his teenage years, wanted to be referred to as Bill and, he wanted the people who had hurt him in the past, to pay the price for what they did to him. Bill started to recount, the "things" (all of the different incidents), that happened to him at school. When he told his father about all of the bullying he was receiving at school, he then received a beating for not "being a man", as his father so nicely stated it.
All of a sudden, Billy flipped.....a screw became loose if you will. Billy began to bang his head against the street light in the street and he let out a loud, 30 second yell and then he went to his house. One or two old ladies looked out their curtained windows but, what is a frail 70 to 80 year old lady going to do against someone with so much hate built up?
Bill decided to take drastic action and, it was more than likely, going to have to be illegal action, against the hateful people he came to know. He had to plan something but, what? So many emotions were flowing through him and his mind was going in 50 directions at one time. How was he supposed to pull this off? "I am not that smart", he said aloud to himself.
He did not like to feel this way, with so much pinned up anger. It was a lot of anger and it needed to come out soon, before he exploded and it reared it's ugly head, wherever he was at the time.

Chapter 5: Payback!
Bill decided to compile a list of those who wronged him. At the top of the list, was his dad. After that came five other names, all school boys, who had hurt him in some form or another. At the moment, Bill was not sure what he wanted to do but, he did know he wanted those who hurt him to feel pain as well. He thought of ways to hurt these guys in one way, and that was physically. As he thought of payback, he decided he wanted his victims to live, if possible, because Bill Martin wanted those who harmed him to live with suffering and a reminder of what he did to them. Billy was a huge fan of scary movies but, he wanted his own horror film-style assault. "Purely original", he said aloud and then he started laughing almost uncontrollably for several minutes. Bill knew the list of tools and weapons at his home was easily enough for anything and everything he has in mind.
Chapter 6: No Mercy
Tom was in the 8th grade but, he had been held back twice. This guy was 15 years old, red hair, big and tall and mean. Right away he started in on Bill Martin. This only spoke of how insecure Tom was with his own self but, Bill did not realize that at the time. First, it was kids making fun of his glasses, haircut, height and how he dressed. These were just minor things, in comparison to what was to come. Two weeks later, Tom tripped Bill, while he was in the lunchroom, and it made his food tray go everywhere. So, the next Monday rolled around and, Bill stalked Tom silently at school, that morning, until after 4th period. He saw him enter the bathroom so, he followed him in. Bill found the stall that Tom was in. Bill pulled a baseball bat out from his shirt. He had it going down his spine and down past his buttocks. It had been very uncomfortable, he realized, to bring the bat into the school but, it was too late now. Bill swung the bat with all his might, as soon as and it hit Tom in the head, and the skull cracked as the bat broke in two pieces. Bill Martin cracked a wide, ear to ear, smile and went to the urinal and used it, then he stepped over his helpless classmate and, washed his hands in the sink before exiting the restroom. Young Tommy lay sprawled out in the floor, his right leg shaking fast, his body jerking from the blow to the head and blood streaming down the side of his head from the blow to the skull.
Billy did not attempt to hide his victim from view as he strolled out of the restroom and down the school hall, towards the exit.

Bad to the Bone
Chapter 7: Saw Bone
Bill left school after the bathroom incident, taking both pieces of the bat with him. He tossed the bat into the frog pond which is in the woods, and only, a block from the school. Then he walked almost a mile to get home. He found himself all alone, at home, and he went to his room and marked Tom off his list. Bill Martin or should I say Bill the monster by this point, has now filled a large backpack with an ice pick, screw driver, two knives and a couple other items for his usage. Then, Bill went outside and into the garage where he got his dad's circular saw and he began waiting patiently for his dad the return to the house.
An hour went by, and Bill heard the truck door close and knew his dad Dexter, was at home. Bill jumped into action, and hid in his dad's bedroom closet. "I've got him now." Bill said. When his father came in his room, he bent over to take off his shoes and, his son opened the door and slammed a red brick into the forehead of his pops, leaving him unconscious. Bill left the room and came back with the circular saw from the garage and he began to saw the fingers on his dad's right hand. After the 4th finger came off, Dexter jumped up and Bill ran off into the darkness. Dexter was bleeding heavily but, he managed to call 911 before he passed out in the dining room. The law arrived with an ambulance and as Dexter was preparing to ride to the ER, he handed a photo of his son to the detective and explained what happened as he was taken away in total shock and in severe pain.
Chapter 8: Evading the Law
It is now late into the night, and the law has been deployed to locate the troubled boy. Bill ran over a mile. He ran into an alleyway and tripped over a homeless man. He shouted "watch where you are going punk." Bill got up and brushed himself off and started running again. He eventually came out at a local retail & grocery store. He went in and stole a razor and grabbed some clothing, making his way to the restroom. After shaving his head bald and changing clothes, Bill exited the store and tried to blend in with the public. He was on foot and nervous about getting caught until he finished his list. Actually, the plan involved harming the other students on his list. After completing the list, he will retreat to the wilderness to live off the grid and if he does get caught, follow his motto which is, " Die before Surrender". It was no turning back now, he thought, as he contemplated his next move. He would need to get back to school so, he started walking in that direction. While passing a fast food restaurant's dumpster, he was able to find some food. He walked a little further to make sure no one could see him, he sat down and he ate. He made it back to school and he went to the gym, where he knew how to get into the sound room. He could sleep in there, no one would be coming in to disturb him or find him and he be that much closer to his other targets.
Chapter 9: Caught in the Act
Bill Martin had a few things packed into a backpack he was wearing. He had done what he wanted to do to with Tom and his own father but, that left a list with four other students. Bill slept overnight at the school. He climbed the fence and went to the gym in the back. A ladder was attached that lead to the top of the gymnasium roof, where a generator was attached. Bill camped out overnight to escape capture and await the school crowd the next morning. Jason, who was on the hit list of disturbed people, was the target. Bill woke up to the sound of the school bell. He overslept and had to hurry. Unzipping his backpack, Bill pulled out an ice pick. Bill made his way into the school crowd intending to grab Jason and stick him just before homeroom. As he approached his target, two police officers spotted him, bald head and all, so Bill dropped the pick and took off running down the hall and out through the fire escape. As the law followed him out the door it was as if he vanished into thin air. The police began to scour the property, combining the woods and nearby neighborhoods. Bill was very elusive.
The police started searching around the school and in the woods along with door to door residence searches within a 2 mile radius as they closed off exits from this area of the city. The county and city police along with state troopers were all in on the hunt and the US Marshals were notified of a guy who put his school classmate in a coma with a bat, brutalized his father with a brick and cut his fingers off and attempted to stab another classmate. The city cops were all working overtime, swarming the neighborhoods, block by block, as well as, getting video recordings from all businesses that have them in an effort to catch this killer on the loose. So far, all leads have come up as dead ends and it has now been 3 days since the assault and attempted murder of three individuals. The department is worried that Mr. Martin may be armed and dangerous and ready to attack again. The police were right in making that assumption.
Several days passed with several phone tips but no actual leads. Extra patrol stays at the school on the lookout and a constant police presence is staking out Bill's family home. How far could he get? Where is he hiding? Will he strike out and attack again?
It has now been 7 days and the police are scratching their heads and confused as to why they cannot catch this disturbed kid. Even though Bill knew he was wanted he still had unfinished business to take care of. 4 students were left on his list and he wanted to get Jason next. He changed his mind on the ice pick, though. Now only a 2 X 4 piece of wood is sufficient he mused. The idea was to pound on Jason's legs until they are badly broken or worse. Knowing the school was heavily guarded, Bill Martin decided to stake out and live near, his classmate, Jason's family residence. Jason left for school at 6:40 on his bicycle and Bill saw him leaving. Bill grabbed his wooden board and took off the back way to try and cut Jason off at the end of the alley. As Jason was driving by on the back alley on his bike to school, Bill stepped out and swung with all his might, landing the wooden board on Jason's left leg. Jason wrecked his bicycle and was bruised up but appeared okay. On the other hand, as Bill hit Jason and the bike pedal it vibrated him and he staggered back onto the street where he was immediately was smacked by a black SUV and tossed 15 feet through the air. Police and medics arrived in minutes and Jason was sent to the hospital. As far as the disturbed and violent Bill Martin goes, he was pronounced dead at the scene from head injuries.
