As the organic Venetian Arabica,

Slided down his longing throat,

The bright vibrant colour, a pinnacle of perfection,

Kissed the nape of his neck on its way down;

Embraced his stomach with great gusto.

His recent fatigued and foggy brain,

Now danced with the ultimate joy!

The tantalising fragrance of his breath,

Met and synergised with the aroma

Of this natural ‘high’, and sweet relief

Could be seen emerging from a glowing smile.

Pete reclined happily in his comfy chair,

As the magic of a much needed ‘lift’, took hold.

Ah! He was alive again!

With an awakened Spirit,

Full aroma inhaled and digested,

He was now ready for Flight BA 216,

Onwards to his destination.

Thanks Jill and welcome here. I am an aesthetic, ethereal and esoteric poet essentially, as reflected in 99% of my poems. This one was meant to liven things up a bit, but it still has an exquisite touch to it. So good of you to stop by. My gratitude.

Brilliant my friend! I started a pot of coffee as I read and your words made me visualize the act of enjoying it and I will. Good Morning. Jamie

I can live without it but seriously, why would I deprive myself of such joy? :) Thanks for the smile this morning, my friend.

Only you, manatita44, could make a cup of coffee so strong, so rich, and so aromatic with words. One can feel the powerful and uplifting effect of coffee through this poem without ever taking a sip. You're good. Voted up, beautiful, and interesting.

What a beautiful poem about coffee ! Brother, here in India we are fond of tea. I occasionally savor coffee , but reading this I would love to pick up a cup. Though humorous, this poem is still laced with unique flavor of your poetry. Voted up and shared.

I am not a big coffee drinker; just a half cup each morning. I have friends who drink it from morning to night. You make me want to enjoy drinking coffee more with your descriptive words!

That photo shows one satisfied coffee drinker, is that you??

Jamie, Good morning. Chuckle, chuckle ... hope you enjoy yours as I did mines. He he, Bro. Gratitude.

      Bill,

Then I admire you. Ultimately too much is not so good. But a little is sometimes necessary. Peace bro.

      Thanks Jan.

I was in DC only last week! How I would of love to see you! I spent two days with my Missrs and son, then headed for my annual pilgrimage in New York.

Note: If you have anyone around 9-13yrs or so, then I can recommend an exceptional School. Much gratitude for your kind sentiments. Love.

Harishprasad, my friend I thank you. As you may know, I have been a vegetarian for 33 yrs, and I'm familiar with Indian Chai. I like it a lot, Bro. So good of you to visit and thanks again for your fine sentiments.

No Mary, it's not me. Still, he is 'cool' isn't he? Have you seen your dedication?

Glad that you don't drink too much. At most I would have two a day, but mostly one. I wrote the poem in a famous coffee shop at the Airport. Much Love.

Ruby, he he. How I would love to make you laugh. I think that you have a Caribbean Spirit. Maybe Jamaica or is it Grenada? Glad you like coffee. The shower is good but not too much coffee. Much Love.

      Jodah,

Thanks a lot! I always begin work with one. I'm naturally extrovert anyway and so I'm even more so. But patients love me. I know as they send letters to the management saying thanks. Much love.

Hi Shauna. Great! But take it easy. Not too much. Do you work? In Love and Light.

I love this poem about coffee and how you personified it! What would we do without our coffee? I definitely need a cup of coffee in the morning to jump start myself. LOL! A thoroughly enjoyable read!

You made a tea drinker crave a cup of coffee and the buzz that accompanies it. That's art. Well written. I shall have a coffee for morning break now i've read this. I do enjoy an occasional coffee but I guess my heart is with tea. Thank you.

      Hi Dora,

Yes, Dee, I tried to make it funny to text to members in my spiritual centre. They all know that I like to tease. Thank you so much. Always happy to see you. Much peace.

Woo, I know I need my coffee in the morning and I take a small thermos so-to-speak on my commute into the city each morning LOL ... so I am pumped up and ready to go. I really amounts to about two cups, maybe two and a half. I love to add a little French vanilla cream to it, so I am oh so bad.

      Enjoyed the poem. Very creative.

Peace and blessings and here's to a great cup of coffee!
