The Whipping Wind

Updated on October 23, 2016

Pull Up A Seat

Waking up over looking a field of brilliant greens and oranges

Tints of reds and a splash of yellow

The stunning colors of fall

My body excited and eagerly accepting so many external changes

Internally quietly adjusting my dial

Listening to static and lots of interferance

Continually fixing

I know it can be done

I'm not sure when

I do know how

The same way

Just as I have repeated many times before

Passing disappointing and discouraging attitudes

As if they were cars on the highway

Going at their own pace

Putting my blinker on

I carefully switch lanes and exellerate

I feel free

I keep attempting many changes

Leaving the old and out dated

By the side of the road

Traveling light

Before not sure if I have made the right decision

Feeling only one thing for certain

Cramped and squished

Mentally and physically restricted

Is no way to live

Tomorrow mostly sunny

High of 49

I feel much better

Learning what I have to go through

Living with temporary moments of sadness

Makes way for new joys

Keep making discoveries

Anywhere I want to go

Over flowing with appreciation

Out of my rut

Into my groove

An unbeatable combination

Welcoming each wonderful and amazing new day

Shanmarie I like to think of these times as dips in the road. The car shakes and rattles but soon after where back smooth driving. It makes it easier when you have friends that understand and care. Have a good morning.Faith Reaper It is so satisfying to feel all the excitement building and dreaming of good things to come. A wonderful afternoon is just around the corner. Jodah I never know how long the trying times will last. I do enjoy the feelings that come after and I love when last a long, long time. Thank you for sharing through all the steps that lead us to the next day. Hope your day is one of endless fun and joy.

Ah, Dream On. It is good to see you getting over your disappointment and tough time. Life goes on, and if anyone can look,on the bright side .. It is you. Glad you are beginning to feel better.

Oh, I love, love, love your poem here! It reminds me of some mornings of my daily commute into the city to work (an hour) and when the change of seasons offers a new and fresh outlook on life and seeing the beauty all around us and being thankful for each new morn. Beautiful metaphor for life, as we do go through those ruts but when we persevere, we will see a new hope.

Good for you! Sometimes those ruts hit hard and last too long. Most people never even notice. Maybe that's for the best though. At least you were able to write through yours. Glad you're feeling better. Have a good day.
