The Whisper of The Rain

Updated on March 8, 2012

The whisper of the rain comes softly

shhhh shhhh.

She cries as the loneliness engulfs her

shhhh shhhh.

In the darkness of her room the shadows fall

shhhh shhhh

The memories won't leave her alone.

Born on a wing and dancing on prayers

She came into this place

There were music and lyrics here

they enfolded her in a fond embrace

shhhh shhhh

The peace swelled up within

she'd found a home again.

Sleeping peacefully the storm did break.

While this young one slept the earth did shake.

In her peaceful slumber she did not wake.

The music and the lyrics made her feel safe.

Sun shining, light dancing, soft breeze

Slipping out she looks through the trees.

The Music remained, but the lyrics had gone

No more words to sing a comforting song.

The rain poured softly o'er her cheeks.

She blamed herself, it felt like weeks.

Then the rain came down in silent sheets

Shhh Shhh.

Restless nights and crazy dreams.

shhh shhh

She peers out each day to look at the scenes.

shhh shhh

Finally through the trees she sees.

Shhh Shhh

The lyrics are carried back on the breeze!

No silent tears to cry today.

The song bird returns and joins the fray.

The rain whispers its soft goodbyes

And the sun comes back out, she shields her eyes

And dances with joy to the song complete.

The music and lyrics, put wings on her feet.

Welcome back Lyricsingray

Like a phantom, she comes and she goes. The problem is that there are those who are her friends, who love her no matter what. There are others who will never change how they feel about her, and do not treat her with kindness. There are, I have heard, three sides to every story:

  1. Yours
  2. Theirs
  3. The truth...

At times the stories may become so distorted as to no longer even resemble the truth any more.

I don't know what the truth is. What I do know is this: Friends do not care what other people think of you, and neither should you. Do not live for what others think of you, live for what you think of yourself. If you are unkind, or kind, you will know it.

Be kind to each other. It is all we have to offer each other.

A Song For You

Thank you so much. I like it too, I have to admit. It's one of my favorites, of all the poems I've written.

I am at peace now! It's sometimes hard to find in this hustling/bustling world of hub pages but I will take up residence here with your poetic calm when I need some welcome relief!

I know she is gone, and it saddens me. I hope she will return. I know she is okay, which is the most important part. I am building a place where she will be able to come, and she has built one, where I will visit her. I am not so good with Face Book, and there are too many people. Not that I don't like people, but I know some who get tormented there and at My Space. I need a different setting than that.

I do love a nice rain. Our wonderful Kim has left again, but I am one of her friends on facebook, so I keep in touch with her. Lucky me. Nice little poem here.

I am glad you have all enjoyed my poem. I am sad to say my dear friend and Fellow Hubber has Left Hub Pages. Good-bye Kimberly. Keep me posted on that web site of yours. I will miss you here. I look forward to reading what you write over there. The feet have lost their rhythm. I always dance to the Lyrics, not the music.

@ Tonymac and Hummingbird: I am glad you both liked the poem. I was unable to sleep; the events of the day: I'd gone to school and she'd come back, but I missed it. Still, knowing she'd been here was such a joy, I felt like dancing, and this was my expression of that. I could see her and feel the warmth of her smile, even though it was from a distance.

@ Lyricsingray: Well, when I cry, I have to pee, and then I get dehydrated, and then I drink water; but then I get all emotional from being dehydrated in the first place! And of course that makes me cry. It's a cycle. Drink lots of water, Lyrics.

I keep coming back, of course to rate this piece of instinctive, perceptive magic of truth up, and try to say something, anything, I am not some writer of great english language, nor brilliance of words, but have always taken pride with the ability to articulate my feelings so the reader can feel it too. I am unable to here. This, because the words in the language I know, don't exist and I am speechless. Beyond grateful and now that your work, my encouragement and validation hangs here in front of me beside my keyboard, what you have done, I think you may not even know. You have given me my inspiration back and it accompanies me here forever. Thank you my friend, my god, thank you. ps-am mad at you though - you made me cry and I have to pee from blowing my nose :) xoxooxxoxo bless you
