The Winter Witch
As chill as witch's cackle and as bitter as her brew...
the sting of winter's clutching grasp engulfed and harshly blew.
Its cold was paralyzing like the witch's piercing glare...
penetrated to the bone...then infiltrated there.
This winter wind then cast a spell, so wicked its intent,
solidified all that it touched, its wrath never quite spent.
It seemed to last forever, as winter's torment grew,
freezing into solid ice all but its chosen few.
But as with life, it had to end, was forced to travel on...
Spring arrived on tender breeze and winter witch was gone.
On the breeze, a glowing warmth embraced all in its path...
Winter's grip, that once possessed, now meltdown aftermath.
Icy fingers did give way and yielded unto spring,
and on the wings of victory was banished winter's sting.
The winter witch had met her match. Her heartless touch of gloom...
was conquered by the breath of spring in all her blush and bloom.
