The Writer's Muse
A Writer's Muse
By Tony DeLorger © 2012
Eloquent words, thoughts absurd,
relishing moments of creation,
indiscreet and loathed to meet,
the consequence of machination.
Thoughtful bribes, seduce, imbibe,
the power of silver word smiths,
in salacious tongues and slippery puns,
a soul transfixed in what ifs.
Sweaty palms and squirming arms,
flailing like an octopus,
comfort purged by words so urged,
and hearts a pounding guiltless.
When writers find a seed to grow,
and an imagination to water it,
a festive orgy of verbal birth,
enthrals a reader to yield to it.
The muse all lashed by tongues, enticed,
to lay down mind and soul,
and render the thoughts of beguiling smiths,
transporting them swallowed whole.
The creative juices drool from a writer,
like the seeping of an earthly spring,
pristine and new under a new sun.
