The calm within the storm,a poem of hope

Updated on August 13, 2013
Source
Source

Eye of calm within the darkest storm

Cunningly hidden, well-concealed;

Howling winds, in raging form

Secreting a gem to be revealed

The temporal nature of the tempest

Difficult to comprehend

When the winds are at their boldest

The hunt for the calm eye begins

Source

The tempest does not follow

Wherever one may choose to go

So there is no need to wallow

Over things not yet known

Source

The storm started not

Because of one’s influence;

Let it not be a blot

On shaky confidence

Source

Ride the storm with gladness

With will to negotiate

With no thoughts of sadness

Becomes easier to navigate.

Source

With mind’s active balm

Journey though laborious

Finding the eye of calm

Renders one victorious.

Sometimes our journey through life may be akin to surviving a tornado; but within the tornado is an eye of calm to find.

Very beautiful Poe, Michelle. I actually have lived through 2 hurricanes and can attest that the eye truly is so very calm and can almost fool one into thinking the storm is over even when it isn't just yet. Very nicely worded and have voted up and shared too.

you've woven a powerful word in your poem Michelle. sometimes, all we need is to find the eye of calm on inside a swirling life.

Couldn't agree more Michelle! very true indeed.. in times life is rough for us to handle, don't look on the roughness, try to open your eyes and see the smooth piece inside it. It's the only way to overcome tempest! Vry well done Michelle!!

Beautiful thoughts and words here. I always notice how peaceful it is after the storm has passed and the sun comes out again. We just have to "ride it out". I am thinking of the hurrican Issac that we got just the outer bands with lots of wind and rain.

I voted this Hub, up, and will share.

It is within each of us, is it not, this thing called a storm....and then the outside influences that cause storms in our personal life.....and through it all, if we can remain calm, change comes....such is life, yes?

      Very well-written Michelle!

Unpleasantries are inevitable but they happen to nourish and strengthen our soul. And, "Finding the eye of calm, Renders one victorious."

So, not to be afraid when there's storm. The sky is doing its job and the big guy up there certainly mean no harm. There is hope.

Pretty inspiring and awesome hub. Up and away to you Michelle.

Inspiring piece my friend.... I take the storm to be the mental unrest of man.. and the calm which lays hidden in it..

Unless man fights off his storms he cannot find his calm
