The day I looked into your eyes - Poem

The day I looked into your eyes,

All doubt melted away

For I saw a tiny girl who stole a place in my heart

And forever there she would stay

Those twinkling eyes, and sparkling smile

Blew everyone away

And love for you from near and far

Grew more, and more, each day

I watched you grow

From tiny babe, into a lovely little girl

And smiled deep down inside

At your beautiful eyes with a turned up curl

From little girl to budding teen

You grew all too quick

I watched you stretch your wings to fly

You thought you were so slick

But I saw through the tears you cried

The tricks you played, the little lies

And through it all one thing is true

My love has never changed for you

You’re now a strong young woman

Making your own way in life

Independent and sure

A loving daughter and wife

Thank you Katrine. Yes indeed our love for our children is unconditional and our time with them is brief.

gregas, I look forward to reading your memories of your daughter at 15.

Hi Kim, Mothers feelings shown beautifully. I am just writing something about one of my daughters, she's now 40, and yes they grow and leave all too fast. What I am writing is about when she was 15. Greg

Very nice. Mother's love is unconditional. No matter what we will always be there for our children. Time goes by too quick, we need to enjoy every moment with them. Before we know it they will have left the nest.

      Voted up and awesome :-)
