Where do Authors get their inspirations from?
Are you an Author a writer or a reader?
Are you a writer or an author?
The internet has given many people the opportunity to write. Writers can be people who manage a blog, a website or write articles for websites like hubpages or who manage social media groups. Authors are writers who have published their work ( fiction or non-fiction) for the commercial market. This can be in the form of books or ebooks, even if the book or ebook is offered for free.
Today there are many more authors due to the ebook explosion, but are there more readers?
It's my experience that there are less book readers today due to all the competing content, including TV, YouTube and other visual entertainments. That is also the reason why today it's a lot harder for any author to get exposure to the readers of their genre or subject.
In my case story telling is like a hobby but, at the same time I have a passion to uplift and inspire my readers through writing visionary fiction.
This is were my inspirations come from:
Reading - Movies - TV
Dreams - Lucid - O.B.E.
Family stories from the past
Research - Non fiction topics
The lives of my close family & friends
Best selling fiction ,Sci-fi or fantasy novels
Previous, or other lives
Photo albums - family movies
News - Current events
Beauty in art, crafts
School, college, Jobs, own business
Futuristic sciences - UFO stories
Internet - virtual realities
Health related experiences
Nature, Animals, Planet Earth
The hidden facts behind fiction
Speaking for myself, personal experience comes to mind, especially when a writer has chosen a specific topic. Creative writing was never on my to-do list, but today I'm working on the 5th novel in the awakening to our ascension series.
I was shown long ago how I needed to share my experiences on the 5 stages of awakening. Ingrid Barendse is the main character in my first novel: The Awakening Clan. She is a personality type 5 on the Enneagram. She represents readers who hold a lot of doubt about the metaphysical world.
In my article: What is a Group Soul? I have shared how I established my cast of characters for all my novels.
Have you ever read about the nine personality types on the Enneagram?
The Five Stages of Awakening
Ingrid is one of Annelies Zwiegelaar's students in her decoding of your blueprints workshop in Apeldoorn - Holland. Although she was always drawn to esoteric philosophies, she is a very private person. Ingrid is asked by Annelies to write how her reality changes when she learns how the human mind influences the biological codes that create physical reality. For Ingrid exposing her unusual experiences through writing a journal was difficult. Her story represents the first stage – but all 5 stages are clearly written about throughout her journal.
Annelies is a personality type 8 on the Enneagram. She is the center character around the genetic decoding workshops. Her powerful persona holds a strong vibration necessary to lead the others on their journey. Annelies represents any person that is seriously drawn to become fully awakened and wishing to fully participate in the ascension journey. Her own journal - Vanishing Worlds represents the third level of awakening. The letting go of old beliefs.
So far both Ingrid and Annelies reflects the author’s own perceptions on this topic, but told as fiction.
A life changing experience
One morning after I dropped my children off at school, I was about to start smoking my first cigarette, when a voice told me that a drastic change in lifestyle was in order. This truly happened to me in the seventies. I looked behind curtains and checked to see if the radio was on, just to confirm to myself that I was alone in the house. After my conversation with this 'voice', who I heard as clearly as if there was somebody in the room speaking to me, I asked for proof!
The reasons were because I kept doubting my own experience.
My awareness levels were still very asleep when this happened and I knew nothing about what I know today. Was it my own higher self in the future that was speaking to me?
Had I gone cockeyed, or delusional?
After I sat down and started talking back to a disembodied voice, my reply was still challenging, since talking to nobody but myself out loud seems crazy. After being told how to stop smoking, (which I will not repeat in this article) I felt as if I was removed from my body. At the same time I was shown images of what I later understood to be energy particles from an embodied soul that have the power to create physical matter. It was many years later that I recognized these symbols to be a language; like a script of the soul.
At the time the voice reminded me of my childhood. When I was very young I heard people speaking in their head, but I knew that the energy symbols I saw around them told me a different story. When some adults spoke to my parents, I instantly knew if they spoke what was from their heart. It often was not. Most adults used words that did not reflect their thinking! The word telepathy was not yet known in my vocabulary, especially not in the English language.
Were adults around me lying?
The symbols contradicted their words. I'm sure that was the reason why I'm still today as dyslexic as they come. I think in pictures, not in words.
What was also shown to me in a vision like projection, or more like a hallucination, was what looked like a star map at the time. I knew then that I had to give up smoking in order to expand my awareness levels, which I promptly did! The smoking I mean.
The age of computers had not yet arrived. The Internet was an unknown concept and my own knowledge was very minimal on the topics about which I now write. All I knew for a fact was that my one profound experience during the seventies awakened within me a passion to become a cosmic traveler, and an astral explorer of a world that held kaleidoscopic diversities. I needed to gather information in order to paint with words the visions I was shown.
I was more of an artist during the years that followed, but I knew that my paintings had to be produced in a story format, which was a great challenge, being dyslexic. The idea of exploring the awesome concept of our spiritual awakening, shown to me just that one time, resulted in the creation of a human plot.
Today my field of interest, actually it's more like a passion, is on the awakening to our ascension. Meaning: to escape from what appears to be real.
My light worker journals came alive through the characters who all belong to the Jaarsma Clan.
Most of the spiritual, esoteric concepts in my novels are almost blindly written through my characters, and they therefore are the article writers of my website.
When I entered the first chapter of my novel into the writers club of South Africa competition in 1999 under the name of Nadine May, I was placed first in the Michael Brunner trophy section. My elation at winning this trophy in the category: ‘first chapter of a novel’ gave me the encouragement to share the visions - shown to me during the seventies - through the power of words. For me this was, and still is a huge task, since I’m still dyslexic, and think mostly in pictures. My first novel was published under the title: My Love We Are Going Home in 2001 by Kima Global Publishers. In 2007 this novel was republished under the title: The Awakening Clan.
This is the second book in the Awakening to our Ascension series. Having spent many years trying to decipher the hieroglyphic symbols found by archaeologists in the previous century.
Ingrid’s story goes as follows:
Ingrid Barendse is dumbfounded by bold text that appears on her switched-off computer. She knows of no technology that can do what she witnesses. The question in very bold text: “Would you like to take part in the Awakening Process?” was still there after she pulled the plug.
She sat for a moment like a statue. Nobody took any notice of her. She grabbed the mouse and at that moment the screen went blank! HOW WEIRD!
The loud melody of her desk phone jolted her back to the reality of the workplace. She was about to plug back the electric cable and switch on her PC when her screen lit up again, like it did when a fatal error occurred, when the words “I asked you a question?” appeared .
She jumped off her chair as the adrenaline surged through her bloodstream. Were the words meant for her? Slowly she sat down again, staring at the large yellow letters on a blue screen.
"Who are you?" she typed in response with trembling fingers, seeing to her amazement her own text appearing underneath the question. Someone must be playing a trick on her, surely? Or her PC must be on!
“No. Nobody is playing a trick on you. I am like you: a multidimensional spiritual being.”
That remark! With whom was she...? Everyone was working at their computers as if things were normal. Well, things were, but what was going on in her mind? Then the text changed.
“I am your mind.”
That totally shocked her! Who was reading her mind? Gosh, she now remembered the previous night! While soaking in the bath, she had had a strange experience of hearing a voice! She had looked around but knew she was completely alone in the house. She grinned as she recalled looking everywhere after her bath to satisfy herself that she was alone....
The sequel to the Astral Explorer. More amazing revelations of a future world as seen by a master Astral Traveller. This is a world that we are rapidly headed for so readers of this book find it imperative to find out our options.
Are my novels written as fiction but are more like stories that hide facts?
The more I research my topic, that our reality is an illusion created by the human mind, the more I believe this to be true!
Recently I found out that my writing falls under visionary fiction, of which there is no category on this forum,as yet!
As a writer I realized that the visions and the voice from long ago has never contradicted my research. The Matrix movies and many other examples support the idea that fiction can indeed hide facts!
- Is writing a novel a learned skill?
Everybody can learn a skill if the interest to do so is there. How good a person is at their skill is an altogether different matter. A writer of any topic MUST have a passion for writing to succeed.
- Can a fictional plot become a reality?
Could, due to the visions our mind creates while reading a story inspire us to change our own reality? Could the backdrop we visually see, when reading a novel change our direction in life?
