The Sin of Pride

Updated on May 24, 2013

I found a key .. and what it opened

I wondered...... could it be...?

was it something so beautiful ..

so wonderous to me ..

Yes.... this was the key

of what was meant to be

It was the open your heart

the key that will keep us

from never.... to part

The days are too long ..without you
I watch as the flowers still grow .. under the dark sky
I listen as the birds call your name ..
from the tops.... of the tree's

The longing in my heart like a plague
that will will never be eradicated
Only your touch.... can cure me...
only your kiss... brings the warmth of the sun

The sin of pride..... is from trying to reach too high ..
When i wanted you ...
I was trying to pluck the stars
from the heavens .. shining so bright ..
it burned my soul.. forever

Pride is an ugly creature that rears its head just when we think we have it conquered. Love you poem and pics.

Faith Reaper ...thank you my loyal friend .. I wanted to tell you how beautiful you looked in your wedding picture .. just beautiful and full of innocence..

thank you for the kind words and glad you liked my poem..

In fact your post inspired my poem .. if you believe that ? it moved me really ponder my actions when i was a young man and went around breaking others hearts .. a very shallow person ,

but i have grown and put away my youthful wanderings..

God bless you .. keep inspiring all with your FAITH..!

Pride is hard to swallow and has been the downfall of many.

Lovely work, Michael. I know something about pride...hopefully I know enough about it to keep it subdued in the years to come. :)
