The tears fall - a poem

Updated on April 10, 2012

Here is a little introduction to this poem..

This poem may be a continuation of "Your time has come" or may be read as a poem by itself, it is an outpouring of emotions unbridled. I haven't put it through the editorial cuts as I usually do, it may sound raw and intense or may be not :) .

Though I am a positive person, there are times when you can't do much and when the other person doesn't want help, you feel so powerless and have to let them make their choices.. you watch and wait and maybe just offer your love... I wish I could....

Have you ever felt that way???..

My heart aches, the tears fall,

I wish I could be the mother of all,

To hold and embrace and kiss every face,

Until the tears cease,

It rains within, to the see pain and shame,

I wish I could heal the maimed,

I wish, I wish I only could...

I cry inside, I writhe in pain,

Oh God, I wish I could take,

Take away their guilt and shame,

All their hurts and every blame,

And turn around their lives again,

I wish I could, I wish I could,

I wish I only could.

It bleeds within, to see lives wilt,

It cuts, right through the heart,

To see dreams spilt,

And futures torn apart,

Watching the wrong moves they make,

All for, ‘personal freedom’s’ sake,

I wish, I could…….I wish….I..wi

Could I give you a part of my life?

A happy part that I live,

Will you take and mess it up

Or drink deeply of my cup?

Can I give you the thoughts I think,

Of goodness and of love,

If I can, I will my child .. I will .. I will..

Tears flow, but dry up though,

My tomorrows have their fill,

Of their own troubles and busyness,

I wish I only could shrug it off,

And come to your rescue,

But who will teach my children today,

How to walk their way?

All I can, I will do, to fill my path with love,

Arms open wide, I wait for you, I truly will my child,

I offer you my blanket, of loving warm embrace,

My scent, my heart and kisses warm, all enfolded within,

May you feel my loving heart,

As you touch it to your face !

Dear Mom's, I don't know if I have been too much...but that is the way I am....love makes deep inroads... Maybe because I have been on the other side a long time I ago.. I am able to empathize and feel so deeply.. I can understand your question ... but I am not sure if I am answering that. I will do something better (((((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))) I just hope that some how it reaches and touches you.. take care .. and God Bless!

You ever sit back and think about whether you have 'been' to much? I have been on both sides of this poem. I have lived a lifetime on the same side you are on and another on the side of the person this is for.

It made me wonder what side I am on today.

Thank you Zac828. This poem was a deep, deep cry of the heart... a sadness that comes from knowing that there isn't much you can do for another.. It still is a cry deep within! Have a blessed day!!

What a beautifully realised poem, haunting and uplifting with a wonderful melancholic tone. Glad I caught this one.

Thank you for recognizing the uniqueness. Love seems to be the only solution I could offer someone even as a therapist. Love is the all pervading magic, and the love of a mother uniquely so. I really do appreciate your comments and now I need to get to know the person and his works. I shall be there shortly.

Frank, thank you. Sometimes the best kind of poetry is the gushing of the heart, in pain or in love. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and wish you a blessed New year!! I appreciate your comments greatly!!

WE, thank you for the read and the comment. I am only human , just a person, I cannot be the Saviour of all...was what became evident and clear to me after my thought processes were applied on this piece of writing. I have learned to accept my limitations since. Every moment is a learning moment.

Wow, wouldn't that be the thing dreams are made of, but alas it is just the tears that can fall, haven't I learnt that yet!! Joy I think at the end of the day, compassion is all that is left, people make their choices.

Thank you Joy for sharing your thoughts.

Thank you, Denise ...sometimes all you can do is offer unconditional love, let them make their choices live their own lives... be there when they call.. that is life..

Pain is touching indeed. Hugs to Denise.

I can see where you are coming from....sometimes I believe it is enough to evaluate ourselves alone...do your mission in life and depart when the master calls, a wise man I know says.. you look ahead you feel fear.. you look behind you see pain and bitterness.... look under your nose you know what to do and how to go...

May be we shall just choose to do our best and make the difference..you will be joyful for having done what you can.. I appreciate your sentiments just gave you my point of view.. Thank you Freya for this lovely conversation.. sofs

It is not hard indeed, for those who have ability to show it. But in the world today, this is not the case. Selfish and greed eat humanity. Ego make people become self-centered. They called the heart like what you already showed in this poem as martyr heart. This is the fact, dear, even many people will not honest enough to nod on this, but it is easy to find in the life around us today. So sad. Really sad.

It is not hard to be compassionate or show love.. that is the core of man...without it what would mankind be.. Thank you Freya for the support!! your gentle words soothe.. the pain.

How can you not be compassionate when you see it before your eyes...I was taught one thing by mentor when he found me crying tears of helplessness ‘when you have done your best move on and live your life while they live theirs’. I am grateful to him because he taught me so much about life!! And you Tim, are one of the most gentlest of souls I have met. Thank you, Tim am I glad to have met you! you bet!

Awww sofs; It is rare to know someone of such compassion and selflessness as you. But it's also good that you can let go of others' problems, if you've done all you can do, and move on with your own life.

      I'm touched. Nice going, girl.

It has been there too long and needed the release..It is the pain of powerlessness, just wishing, where you can do much, watching lives go down the drain because you respect personal choice...Thank you for sharing in the pain!!
