The tiny devil that spoilt my day!

Updated on March 26, 2016

I was reading the morning’s newspaper lying on the couch,

A sting on my right foot made me jump up with an ‘Ouch!’

It was a silly little mosquito that dared to bite!

But soon she flew away , I felt it alright.

She was out through the window, I was glad to see,

But how on earth would I know she would soon return to me!

This time she preferred to sit on the tip of my nose.

I lay still as if I was giving a photography pose.

Gently I twitched my nose, she was in sight.

Before I could do anything she took a little flight.

Her buzzing sound was back again, it was loud and clear,

She had the guts to sit this time on my cheek, oh dear!

I said to myself ‘ Enough is enough, time is just now ripe,

I have to take action forthwith to end the devil’s life.’

With this thought I threw the newspaper right over my face,

But missed her very narrowly what a disgrace!

My spectacles fell, lenses broke, Oh what a price had to pay!

for attempting to kill the devil that spoilt my entire day!

Funny but true poem Kamalesh050, I hate the buzzing of mosquitoes in my ears when I try to sleep. They don't bite me often thank goodness. I too wonder why thee little devils were created..they seem to have no good use other than to annoy.

Similar to them are the flies, just without the stinging. Heh, can't stand them in the summer. Really nice poem and funny too.

Great funny hub. Mosquito's bite everyone they come across so put some alcohol on the bite.

I lived in Italy and was bitten many times but the last mosquito was flying low because his body was so full. I imagine all the people it had bitten but not me I slap it on to the wall, but I had the wash all the blood up. Evil little devils.
