The weather outside is not delightful

Updated on July 19, 2012

The weather outside is not delightful,

The heat is so frightful!

And since we've have places to go,

Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!

It does show signs of lightning,

And the thunder seems frightening,

The air conditioner is turned up high,

Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!

When the day finally turns to night,

I will burn a little candlelight!

But if the weather is just right,

I won't have to run the air.

The heat is not dying,

And to all we are still frying,

But as long as the hot wind blows,

Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!

With the weather being so unbearable there are times when a little jingle can cool things down. With family changes, back-to-school and high humidity. Snow is what many do not look forward to but; it can calm a person and take their mind off of things for a little while. The heat is not delightful when its 107 degrees with the humidity at 85%. The call for rain is in the air, rumbling of thunder and the break of lightning brings summer time chillers.

Sitting on the couch taking a break from the more serious side of writing, thoughts of 'Let it Snow' came into my head. Walking outdoors a wave of heat slaps across the face and it feels like your head is in an oven. Rushing to get in where its cool, a person cannot take enough showers to cool down.

What is worse winter or summer? Many of us believe it would be winter, especially if we live in the Midwest or East Coast. If we are on the West Coast we have to drive a few miles to reach the blustery winter and a landscape laced with snow.

The lyrical poem was written within 10 minutes and is meant to enlighten a person when they read it. Calming them after having a stressful day, or thoughts of a cooler day around the corner.

'Let it Snow', 'Let it Snow', Let it Snow!'

hi, Enjoyed this entertaining hub very much. However, I broke into a sweat just reading about your temperatures over there. I would not survive a week . Give me our normal 60 degrees F-- here in Lancashire -NW England =we may get rain but it makes our land green and pleasant and more importantly it allows me to live my life in a bearable climate.

I love the snow jingle, AEvans, and I so wish we really can have snow in this tropic! I'm willing to bargain it with this popular jingle, "Rain, Rain, Go Away"! Haha! Who wants these dreadful typhoons, thunderstorms, flashfloods, landslides, people getting struck to death by lightning, people drowning ? Nowadays, everywhere is watery and stormy down in my country. It's so cold and I wish for snow for a change. Cheers to both of us!

      Hello Ann,

Well, we get the heat here in Las Vegas, but unless there's rain it remains comfortably dry. Yesterday was 100 degress with about 38% humidity. You did an amusing lyrics cover for a familiar song—fun to read!

It was 110 degrees on my front porch yesterday. Having lived in Texas all my life that seems normal at this time of year. In other words, "Oh, well, it's just summer in Texas." As we rarely have really harsh winters I can't really comment on that -- but love it when it snows -- even a little. Hub with a very timely subject! Best/Sis

Loved this hub..made me laugh so much...I live in Texas and believe me I totally know what you're talking about. It's always hot here with humidity at usually 90%. I live in East Texas and we never get snow here. Your vote asked if we liked winter or summer or fall...well here we don't have Fall and usually not much winter either so when we do get some relief from the heat..we take it!!! Voted you up!!!

Ooh, send us some of your heat please! Maybe not all 107, but a few extra degrees would be great right now. As for 85% humidity - we've had 100% most of this "summer" and it's grey again right now. Ah, but the sun is peeking through now, so fingers crossed it's going to be a lovely day!

      Hope things cool for you!
