The Brighter Morn (poem)

Updated on November 12, 2015

Bill Holland

Dedicated to Bill Holland and the believers of H.O.W.

If ever there’s a brighter morn to see

A world were all my children are alright

Then let the hope of change begin with me

I think back to that grand once used to be

And wonder in the sun of my delight

If ever there’s a brighter morn to see

But even in that distant memory

When yonder winds would wander in my sight

Then let the hope of change begin with me

And with each change came new complexity

Till at my window gazing coming night

If ever there’s a brighter morn to see

As things moved on I felt no longer free

Where was that one who said when things were bright

Then let the hope of change begin with me

Then from the hillsides voices filled with glee

Whose song an echo of a common plight

If ever there’s a brighter morn to see

Then let the hope of change begin with me

A perfect poem to read on the first morning following that horrendous elementary school massacre when the entire nation is still in shock. Yes..."let the hope of change begin with me." Beautiful tribute to Bill and a perfect video to end your work with words and meaning. Up, beautiful and sharing.

      Morning Martin.

Truly a great poem to a person striving to do good (HOW).

I'm sure it gives Bill a great boost to know other people are with him all the way.

Morning Hatter. A lovely poem of your usual quality. Your dedication to Bill does you proud. He is indeed a man who deserves recognition for winning his own fight, then trying to fight for others. Well done.

      Voted up and all.

I am deeply touched, Martin! Thank you so much my friend, and of course, I agree completely with the sentiment of the poem...the change must start with me. I have been given a voice and I must use it for good and for change. Without sounding sappy, it is my calling to a higher good.

I am very grateful my friend...thank you!
