The Candle (poem)

Updated on December 17, 2015

The candle which was lit life times ago

This precious piece of wax which we revere

Which with two flames creates a brighter glow

To lighten hearts when darkness may appear

-

This candle which was always in our sight

When we love’s children wandered lost our way

Were warmly guided home of our delight

The memories which candle would display

-

Though winter winds did come to stir up strife

They dared a dream to blow the candle out

And rudely tried to smash it into ground

-

Our candle now reminds us of our life

We shared our wares and tears there is no doubt

Still like the sun two flame made one resound

Beautiful thoughts inspired by the sight of a candle. Applicable for all celebrations even at this time of year.
