The Dance (poem)

Updated on October 30, 2012

Remembering when they first saw them dance

Discomfort what they saw upon that floor

More strange the sense they felt the same before

Before they all were claimed by social trance

Remembering their special dance once more

Discomfort was a thrill they often chance

More strange were feelings shared amid a glance

Before the youth they knew passed through that door

But tears it seem has taken them away

And soon the tune the band plays will be through

Remembering forever marks their doom

Discomfort causes all their fear to stray

More strange to feel the heartbeats they once knew

Before they danced they felt lost love in bloom

To relive a love is to dance badly. Perhaps we make fools out of ourselves in many ways, but enjoy the journey. Great Job!

Such melancholy longing for youth, and so ridiculous the things that we allowed to get in our way! Youth is truly wasted on the young.

Mhatter, each dance tells a story, the passion and awkwardness of the first time is always special, not just for the dancers, but sometimes for those who watches and follow. Nicely done.

Your poem speaks so beautifully of what it must feel like for lovers to dance together for the first time. Besame Mucho! That is such a beautiful song. I enjoyed the dancers in the video, dancing with the innocense of new love.
