The Door (poem)

Updated on December 8, 2013

I feel its presence there beyond the door

A menacing unknown is after me

A something silent which won’t let me be

So in my room I find myself once more

-

It’s there my heartbeat presses constantly

I feel its shadow passing on the floor

Lost dreams within my soul begin to sore

As seconds pass into eternity

-

What evil holds me captive in my cell

What tortured terror lurks beyond my night

What mask of fear refuses to let go

-

Again a distant voice begins to swell

What hidden past has brought about this plight

If I don’t face my door I’ll never know

Music only

It is very hard to face our fears or the consequences of our past, but we all must open that door sooner or later to move on and be set free from those chains that bind us.

      Interesting and useful

      God bless, Faith Reaper

We done Martin. Yes, sooner or later we all must face that door, so we can let go of those remnants of past that haunt our lives, and move on.

You express so well what many of us feel, Martin. It's the unknown that makes us want to hide away.

This is one of your best, Martin. We must face our demons and fears in order to see the light and soar.

Great imagery to a faceless fear.

I think you are making reference to your fear that walked in your dreams

for the better part of your life.

You have worded your poem with great artistry.

You are the poet master, Martin.

      DJ.
