The Evil (poem)
An evil cast its cloud upon a town
The people sighed perhaps it will not stay
But it got darker as they talked away
Confused by their own words the people drown
-
They searched for help in mirrors of their face
For surely someone else will find their sun
They hid their tears in dreams that they had spun
As shadows made it hard for truth to trace
-
But there a light a person came along
A common neighbor weary of this blight
To fight this night delight he might invite
If one could stand together they’d be strong
-
They watched as evil brushed this soul aside
The air resounded shouts if I was you
But as soul vanished all their darkness grew
Although this loss at least this person tried
