Little Stargazer Lilly

Updated on February 22, 2017

Little Stargazer Lilly

I was born from a seed, delicate and new; yet when I grew,

I was no less fragile.

I was vibrant and young, before I came undone;

beautiful but only a child.

With time and weight of your expectation,

no miracle of creation could fix,

I withered slowly, growing ever more lonely,

wishing I was enough for you.

Mom all I wanted, was to stop being haunted

by the ghosts of the things you said.

But if you will not listen, or acknowledge my condition,

I, cannot keep trying.

If you won't nourish me, and I cannot flourish

we have to accept that time's up.

You took who I was, and broke her because,

you needed another to blame for this.

If I was still beautiful, then it's indisputable,

that you looked but didn't see.

And I want you to know that again I will grow,

only next time untainted and free.
