The Gift That Keeps On Giving (limerick)

Updated on December 6, 2012

One present that I will revere

This treasure from my brother dear

My tears I did stave

A fruitcake I’d rave

The same one I gave him last year

The Fruicake Song - (No! not about me.)

Given adequate bourbon or rum marinade, it could last indefinitely;- though it might even be eaten under those conditions!

There is something about fruitcakes. You either love them or hate them.

If you had a homemade cake, it would never leave the house under penalty of death.
