The Human Mind

Updated on September 14, 2011

The mind can play many a trick

Most of which are dirty and sick

A pondering here and craziness there

Can take you most literally anywhere

Memories unbidden come forth to stay

Memories come from such a darker day

Chaotic voices scream and demand

To be heard and acted in the land

From high to low and low to high

From pure joy to thoughts to die

Nightmares battle your mind at night

Trying to influence your fight or flight

Staying with you for so long

Making you weak, and not strong

A sounds or smell can bring a tear

As it can also bring deep fear

Acting upon the visions and voices

Making you choose many choices

You have captured the craziness of a mind so beautifully. Great writing.

True, so very true. Especially the part about memories and how can come forth, unwelcome, to stay. This is an interesting, introspective piece. Voted up and interesting!
