The Sacred Flower (poem)

Updated on November 7, 2012

This sacred flower of so long ago

In darkness did it beauty fade away

Its death would mark a very special day

A moment long forgotten in times flow

So many moments now had passed their way

So many changes swept across these two

So many doubts which once where I love you

So many tears have caused their hearts to stray

Rage rage now fills the void of what they knew

Pain pain over loss now cast them to night

Storms storms the thunder of their violent fight

Tears tears met the things couple now threw

The flower emerged from a book in flight

And what had been dead now started to grow

They saw there the day that they had missed so

The sacred flower which sees them hold tight

Mh, yes, I'll go with the hope at the end too, as teaches mentioned in her comment, but as the beautiful song, "The Rose," says, it can be a razor no doubt and that heart afraid of breaking that never learns to dance, is so very sad . . . I say, take a chance as we are only here on this temporal world for a short while . . . that is until we finally get to go on to that true home.

God bless. In His Love, Faith Reaper

What a powerful message! I love the hope you have put into this. Sad start, but the potential for amending a relationship is beautiful.. The song is beautiful too!

Perfectly wonderful. I love how you use the relationship between people and flowers. We are both so expendable.

I so enjoy when you bring me full circle in your poetry. From love, to being pulled apart, and in the end...reminded of why they should stay together.

How many roses have been pressed between the pages of a book, long forgotten, but when found, seem to bloom all over again in the memories? Beautiful MH!
