The Sands (poem)

Updated on April 18, 2016

My memories with you now drift along

The desert sands which once caressed the sea

And danced along with windswept sacred song

Which boldly promised us eternity

I search for just one more forgotten tear

To hold some precious moments in their place

A dream to make our meaning a bit clear

As sands of our own making now erase

Far off another day recalls a dawn

When showers brought sweet flowers to our shore

And time to build our future hopes upon

These sands have taken them and yearn for more

Amid these sands I’m guided by a tune

Which keeps me drifting till I find my moon

Music only
