The Train (poem)

Updated on May 25, 2016

There he is sitting waiting for his train

His work here is done he yearns to go home

And how did things go it’s hard to explain

For dreams of respite his mind’s set to roam

But how could he leave the people all cried

Didn’t he know that they’d miss him so

Their thoughts of tomorrows in this would reside

Conspire together to not let him go

Without you our world will shrivel and die

Who’ll teach us to sing long after you’re gone

And who’ll hold the answers should we ask why

Such were the guises they built their hopes on

And when came his train to take him away

Confusion then rained a fog filled the air

There in that darkness they all cried please stay

And when the train left his suitcase was there

Music only

Well done, Martin. Nice poem to match the song.
