The Tune (poem)
The stars in the heavens whisper a tune
A song from a past which left way too soon
A song which was cast in spells of the moon
So for all time warm hearts may commune
-
Warm were the nights those days of romance
When all that could see was under our trance
Then into their dreams where we two would dance
So many forevers this moment’s last chance
-
How many lost hearts renewed to our tune
Soft memories’ stars were drawn by some trance
Who were these lovers now daring a dance
And recalled the time for lips to commune
-
So sweet is the drink recalled by romance
How many kisses are over too soon
How many stars did we cast to the moon
So sweet was the life we happened to chance
-
So there it is spread our chance to commune
How many a kiss has reclaimed the moon
I search love’s glories and I’ll find too soon
The stars in your eyes still whisper our tune
