The Vessel (tanka)

Updated on March 24, 2015

Who now remembers

The vessel laying at port

Now so many years

From the days of her glories

When she changed the lives now gone

So much they have hidden in their hulls! Loved this.

We have so many vessels in our ports. They come and go. We change, learn, cry, laugh, grow, or die as the result of each vessel we choose to carry us or lead us astray.

This tanka is full of meaning, Martin. Each reader will get something different from it. That is a job well done.
