The Winds Pass Us By (poem)

Updated on December 19, 2013

The winds pass us by this dream shared by two

While we cuddled in the fields of romance

For such was its hopes of breaking our trance

When eyes of forever held us in view

-

The winds pass us by as moments enhance

Each precious lifetime our heart put us through

We basked in rich splendors only stars knew

So how could any wind topple this dance

-

These breezes to tease and guide us astray

Were just jealous challenges upon our love

Our soul bore the test each menacing lie

-

So as the sunset ebbed upon our day

We watch a world we rose so far above

In our flowered grave the winds pass us by

When I first read your title, I thought it was going to be one of your limericks : ) but thank goodness, it is one of your most beautiful poems!

      Up and more and sharing

Timeless! One of your best, Martin.

These words are the kind one wants in a picture frame

to remind us of our fortune found in the love we have.

      DJ.

Yes, indeed, the winds have a longevity that we will never know.
