A Quick Surprise

Updated on November 1, 2013

I Couldn't Wait

I reached forward as my fingers held it firmly in my hand

Slowly lowering under my nose

As my teeth engaged

The juice dripped slowly down the corners of my mouth

Then as soon as I swallowed

I had to open my mouth wider

For one more chance

Each flavor the same

But with no delay I had to have more

The delicious taste rolling across my tongue

My lips sparkling in the light

What is it that makes it so good

Is it the light yellowish green color that looks so appealing

The firm skin that holds all the flavor in

Maybe it's the cute stem that sticks out

The name Barlett that is stamped not once but twice on the side

So no one will be mistaken

This is such a refreshing fruit

A little messy but well worth every bite

It is perfect when it is ripe

Gypsy Rose Lee Wow that is great. My brother had a pair tree and we would have to shake the high branches with a stick hoping to get the best pears way up in the air.We would run as they dropped.Thank you for sharing your story and commenting so often.

Enjoyed this and made me want some pears. We have a pear tree in our garden. It produces medium to small size pears just enough for one juicy mouthful.

Michael=Milec There are so many ways to fill our days. Having fun and sharing new knowledge and helping each other laughing all the way. I would recommend it to anyone. Life is too short not to enjoy so many Hallmark moments. Thank you for following me to each new place and many new discoveries. Have a great morning.

tobusiness I am always trying to find new ways to share. I want to see how many other people love delicious fruit like I do.annart I left out some parts maybe to be added in at a later date. How the juice dripped on my dress shirt and I hope the stain comes out. Maybe next time I will have to wear a bib.DDE A piece of fruit and a smile was my first title. Then I changed my mind and went in a different direction.Michael-Milec If I can't fill your minds with my good thoughts I figured I would try to fill your belly.Either way you would walk away changed forever.kj force There is only one thing better than eating a juicy pear.Having two so both of us can enjoy so many pleasures that life has to offer one chew at a time.I would love to thank you all for reading my poem and leaving such nice comments.Have a wonderful Sunday.
