There Was A Moment

Updated on May 5, 2013

There was a moment

When your eyes made me believe this would last

And that we were somehow immune

To the kind of storms I had faced in my past

But now time has gone by

And you're just not who I thought you would be

And I don't know when or why

I became someone you don't even see

And I can't help but wonder

Why I always deny summer will turn into fall

But perhaps it's better to be wrong about love

Then to never believe in forever at all

Just lovely and so true. As they say it is better to have loved than not at all.

Summer romance turned bad. Happens to the best of us. You did an exceptional job of making this a beautiful poem. Truly enjoyed!

So true. This piece was beautifully done. We must all reminisce from time to time, and be grateful for what we did have.

Koshaugh - You are one of my favorite poets. This is a superior example of your ability to reach down into the readers heart and soul leaving me with a reflective feeling I can relate to so well.

Beautiful Kosaugh, you are so talented! I could never write poetry, I'm to rigid I guess. I can really appreciate it in others though.

I used to be like you until I found the man of my heart. There's hope out there that you can see it at the moment. It took me 14 years after my divorce to find my right man. We've been married for 24 years.

      Voted up and beautiful, Joyce.

I'm reminded of the song by Garth Brooks....The Dance....."I coulda missed the pain, but then I would have missed the dance."

      Well done; really quite beautiful!
