Their World Is Ugly
Can you please take me to the land of fairies and magic
Where the prince kisses the princess and lives happily ever after and the ending is never tragic
Can you please to me to that forest with pure running water and the trees ever green
Where love is natural, and in that realm exist nothing mean
Help me to reach that place where dragonflies and butterflies waltz on the lilies
Where unicorn fly's and frogs are kissed and becomes princes
Can you please show me the way to that golden yellow brick road
So I can find that wizard who will grant me my wish to simply bring happiness to the world.
To live in that world is my inspiration
I long to leave this city, that is so dark, bitter and filled with aggression
but my world is just a dream
then reality kicks in, now I am back in my realm
I woke up still living in this awful place
There goes the police siren, cars screeching, people weeping, its is a bloody chase
Get that little child out the street before she gets hurt!
Bang! Bang! Bang! too late, a couple days later she will be under the earth
I walked the night streets and I can see an increase in substance abuse
I offer some assistance, tell them to go to rehab, but they simply refuse
As I looked to the corner of a stinky trash can I recognize a face I once knew
It was my friend Bill who was my classmate from high school
He had now fallen and became a prey for cocaine
Tears ran from my sunken eyes as he begged for money, I felt his pain
I decided to walk to the corner shop to get him something to eat
Then suddenly a police car pulled up, cops ran out with guns drawn and tell me to spread my feet
What is wrong officer? why are you doing this?
"Shut up and don't speak, Black men always gets frisked"
I sighed and shook my head but not in disbelief, in frustration
Wishing a thousand plagues upon them, their families and their nation
Then a teenage girl ran from a rat infested apartment, screaming from the top of her voice
And her father half naked behind her, zipping up his trousers, then ducked back inside when he saw the crowd that came out when they heard the noise
Now in front the judge, her pappy only gets six month of community service
Then the same judge sentences a black teen and gives him life for stealing a bar of chocolate
So who profits from pollution?
Could it be the billion dollar corporations?
Who destroys the world piece by piece to simply make a buck
Dumping toxic into rivers using hundreds of trucks
Causing nature to become sick to the core
But one day the Earth will talk, and then it will say no more
One day the volcanoes will erupt and burn away their selfish kingdoms they built
And rebuild a beautiful world, for beast, adults and the innocent kids
One day, their ugly world will turn right back to them
Then the meek shall have the final say.
