There Was Something (poem)

Updated on April 5, 2015

There was something in the way they kissed

Something in the way he held her

Something in the way he looked at her

All that she wanted he’d do

Each beat of her heart touched his too

Something whispered once again

And he would show her the world

Something new around each corner

Something in each breath of life

The wishes and dreams which she knew

Were delights he brought to her view

Something memories drank in

There was something more in how he saw her

Something more than morning’s beauty

Something more than precious love

For far beyond his care for her

He worshipped her

Each thought was her

Something brought him back to her

To be with her

To be for her

There was something which brought clarity to be

Something which made her far more than real

Something he brought back from day she died

The beauty of love is that it can be everlasting. I love this poem.

Love can reach across space and time.

I believe it can reach into the next dimension, called death.

      Beautiful words, Martin.

True love never dies. This is a wonderful read.
