"They" by Eric Wayne Flynn

Updated on April 17, 2014

Want us weak, dying

Bleeding out our eyes on our knees crying

With ourselves, because the message is out

The one's flown into tubes, IV's, oops I mean TV's

Pumped through coax, satellite or fiber optics

Into your living room, bedroom, kitchen and bath and basement and basement bath

Who says America is excessive?

Oh we are so green

New to this

All we know how to conserve are our rights

To free will

Will you free me?

Take me back into the garden

We don't need much

I don't even need sex

We can bribe the snakes to slither and sneak and inject their venom into the apple

As we walk down to the river where everyone is swimming

Will not be there

One bad apple will spoil our bunch

You ain't gonna ruin my BBQ down by the river

Cooking up some pig

Who wants a slice?

My, my, my everyone is getting along, oh it's so nice

To feel the sun

On a summer day with a big old glass of Orange Kool Aid

The earth spinning

My teeth grinning

Under it all a smirk remains

Cuz it's still a joke after all
