If you open your eyes,

you will see,

How much your love

has meant to me.

You found me,

I'd been kicked around.

You made me feel,

So safe and sound.

I know I said,

it would never be.

Even I didn't know

your love, I couldn't see.

We are so opposite

that even we agreed.

Right at that time,

our love was just a seed.

It grew and grew,

with time and trust.

We got thru the hard times,

We knew that we had must.

We conquered those who tried,

to tear us apart.

They couldn't do it,

From the very start.

Our love is strong,

That much is true.

Others tried to separate us,

we came through.

Others meddled in our relationship,

not caring who they hurt.

she was the meanest thing,

I ever met in a skirt.

It's been so many years now

our seed of love has grown,

If we listened to them,

We might have ended up alone.

They were mean

lied to get their way.

Too bad for them

I was here to stay.

Nice poem. I think I might know who 'she' is, the mean one in a skirt lol. Just stay where you are, and really piss someone off. Love you!

That is a very lovely poem, it was wonderful! I'm glad you two came through okay together-ending up alone is never good for sure. Beautiful words all the way through. I voted up.
