Things Can't Get Any Worse But Then They Do

Updated on October 23, 2012

I couldn't sleep so I got up and went on the computer

My computer wouldn't turn on

What am I suppose to do now..I thought

Like going on the computer was my only option

I wasn't hungry and I didn't want to watch t.v.

Maybe I was getting a slight headache and the last thing I wanted to hear is noise

I went into the other room and seen my bookcase filled with books

I looked them over one by one

Yes I like that book but I am not in the mood

This one is my favorite but I really want something different

This book I have wanted to read for a long, long time

I just have never had the time

So I pulled it out and walked to the couch

I sat down and almost instantly my cat found me sitting

She popped on my lap and I patted her so

She snuggled into my arms and then I gave her the boot

She hopped down and then looked at me What?

I started to read my book and once again she hopped up

So I patted her again and now she started kneeding my pajama top

Taking her head and tucking it in to my neck

Purring a little louder now

I don't have the heart to push her down

She reached up and gave me a lick

Closing her eyes and lifting her head up for another rub

Well some how my plans and her plans are not the same

Some time later it seemed like days

I patted her more and then she heard a noise and her head perked up

It was noise from outside maybe a truck that drove by

The sun isn't even up

I am no better than laying awake in my bed

My cat looked up at me one final time and jumped down

Now no longer interested in reading

I have been cast aside like an old hat

Going to give sleep one more try

As I lay there awake with both eyes open

Looking at the ceiling and wondering

What could be worse than this

I was surprised once again

As my cat hoped up laying on my chest

Delightful. My cat Sid sleep beside my comp on a table and occasionally pokes me with his paw if he wants to be petted. Hope the comp is OK. I and my comp have a love affair going and even though I am like you in that there are times I love to lose myself in a book I don't know what I ever did without a comp. Meow from Sid to Charlotte.
