This Love

Updated on May 2, 2017
Source

This love - it is unconditionally there

You cannot do anything to encourage it

Nor can you do anything to discourage it

It is just inexplicably there

No rhyme or reason why

No effort like something I need to try

You may think that it is exponentially there

Except that there is nothing to increase

And it is not the kind to ever decrease

This love - it is unconditionally there

Bravo! Fabulous Poem of something I am intimately familiar with and believe in with every fiber of my being....You have said it all and perfectly at that! Peace, Paula

Thanks, Paula. I don't know about how perfectly I said what I had to say, but I'll take your praise since that obviously means you liked it. LOL

      So beautiful!!

From infinity, infinity exists; from Infinity when Infinity is taken away, Infinity remains.

Paraphrased from the Seers of the Vedas (Hindu scriptures) This is basically what you're saying. I just took it to its lofty or sublime heights. Lol. Did a poem for you.

Yes, manatita, that is basically what I am saying, although far less eloquently than you just did.

I just saw the poem you did for me and I think it fits well with this one of mine, although I didn't read yours first.

Shannon, unconditional love is the best of all. They often say dogs give us unconditional love, whereas not many people do. Good job with this poem.

I chuckle, but that is very true, John. Dogs are most definitely far less fickle than humans. Whereas people have any number of excuses for turning away or letting go, drifting apart, etc. That's all they are, though, excuses. And we are selfish creatures looking out for our own needs and desires first. Despite it all, life happens and sometimes the rare gems of true love are found.

Thanks, Bill. My favorite, too, though I fear I may be becoming a little more. . .cynical. . .no that's not the right word. . .pessimistic maybe. . .about it.

Your poem reminds me of a line from a song, "Oh love, that will not let me go." Like God's love?

I am not sure what song you are referencing, MsDora, but I have a feeling I would like it. Yes, very much like God's love. Also, the love of a parent. . .any kind of special bond. Love is love.

Shannon, the storms did not hit us to hard, but the wind was nasty.

I hope you did not suffer any property damage.

      Blessings always.

Martie, so good to see you! Yes, something always there can sting harshly at times. But I have to believe it is worth it.
