You came in my life as a beautiful dream

Lighting up my life as the morning’s beam.

And then you left as a scary nightmare

Making me believe that life isn’t fair.

How could someone cause me so much pain

And I had nobody but myself to blame!

Loving you blindly is not my only regret

How could my self-worth I forget?

Now to love, I am back to being a stranger

Leaving behind promises, lies and the danger.

I am way past you, my life’s biggest disaster

Baring my life of love, light and laughter.

“I was born the day you kissed me,

died the day you left me,

but lived for the time that you loved me”

Wonderful poem and images of heartbreak, Swalia. We have all been through it and it can be shattering at the time. You expressed it well.

Thank you Rajan! With love comes the pain. Sometimes I think it's inevitable.

Thank you Jodah! Love can be quite devastating at times but one should be able to bounce back.

Love is beautiful, complicated, and scary. We have no control over it. Love sneaks up on us like a thief and we are caught in its web. It's painful when the love you have for another is stronger than they have for you, especially if you feel you are the one for them and they are too blind to see it.

So may of these kinds of stories. Perhaps I've had one too. Write a Hub on why they happen, perhaps. Do you know? Tough one.

Great and touching poem and fantastic music.

"How could my self-worth I forget?" That's the worst part, but recovering self-worth gives impetus to the heartbroken to keep on loving. You write excellent poetry.

Thank you Dora! I remember a line from Paulo Coelho's Brida. When Brida asked how she could find her soulmate, the answer was 'by risking failures, disillusionments and never stopping in her search of true love.'

So true Dana! Love is the most beautiful feeling yet the most painful too.

@Manatita 'Why?' I asked this question a hundred times over the past years but failed to understand. 'Let go and Let God' is the answer for me now.

Ah! Heartbreaks...! A pundit ji at the Temple said they make us stronger. Really? Perhaps. I hope that everyone find their love and it is something which very, very important, be it with God or a Human. After all, humans are the creatures of God Almighty.

@Surabhi Every kind of adversity makes us stronger and wiser. Guruji says, "Love is not an emotion. It's your very existence. You are made up of a substance called love." So it's the higher love that I seek now.

Awesome! So perhaps they happen so that we remember to get closer to the eternal ...

@manatita I think that every adversity comes our way to remind us to surrender to the divine.

Most emotional poetry. Alas love has the power to heal and also to break the heart.
