This Kiss (poem)

Updated on July 3, 2016

Now all the world around them came to this

Two hearts once thought they had so much to say

And all they really wanted was a kiss

-

One day when they were frolicking in bliss

She let a single teardrop slip away

Now all the world around them came to this

-

There time stood still reality amiss

So many unknown feelings came to play

And all they really wanted was a kiss

-

But for this moment he would be remiss

To softly let her know that’s it’s okay

Now all the world around them came to this

-

Then from the silence of their own abyss

They felt the fear of doubt was on its way

And all they really wanted was a kiss

-

So everything they knew they did dismiss

And all of their tomorrows start today

Now all the world around them came to this

And all they really wanted was a kiss

It would be so nice if life was this simple again.
