This Road (poem)

Updated on July 10, 2016

It seems to me I’ve seen this road before

It echoes in familiarity

A sense of how all things should really be

Before my mind and senses went to war

Ahead an endless possibility

Ahead for a reality to shore

A sense that I am normal for once more

Once more upon this road of clarity

Yet even here I sense a need to change

To see what waits ahead upon this road

And for this instance once more I am torn

And all I thought I knew again turns strange

What does the light ahead of me forebode

Upon this road another child is born
