How innocent we were then ..

Updated on April 19, 2016

It was one of those bad days

when things were not going right,

My sister hid my toy,

and we both had fight.

My father heard me cry,

Very soon he came near,

I told him what had happened,

He listened and said “ Oh dear! ”

He hugged me and kissed me,

And then kissed my sister too,

Then he chased us playfully,

Said ‘Come on you two!’

We ran upstairs and downstairs,

That was some fun,

Our breakfast was ready,

We were called by Mum.

As we sat for breakfast

My sister returned the toy,

I smiled and kissed her

like a good little boy.

Again we became friends,

I had smile on my face.

How innocent we were then,

How lovely were those days !

@ Jo_Goldsmith11 - Many thanks for your comment and I am so glad that you have liked the poem. I am grateful for giving me an idea to change the line from "like a little good boy" to "like a good little boy" and this change I have incorporated. Yes now it sounds a lot better and more appropriate. I shall certainly like to have your suggestions/recommendations in future too. Thank you once again.

      Best Wishes to you,

Thanks for sharing, great hub. What a sweet brother you are.I wish my brother was as sweet as you. He would say sorry in front of my parents, and then he put his mean face back on and started all over again. LOL. Thanks for the the flashback.

Really neat poem. I can remember the fond memories of those days. I really enjoyed this work. If I may, I would like to respectfully give you an idea. Maybe if you changed your line " like a little good boy" to "like a good little boy". This may sound better to you. Bravo!~nice thoughts. :-)
