Three Cups Of Tea

Updated on April 20, 2011

One Mans Failure Leads to Phenomenal Success

  • Three cups Of Tea, written by Greg Mortenson is New Yorks best sellar for the 109th week. Mr. Mortenson was on a mission to promote peace with many attempts to climb Pakistan's K2, the worlds second highest mountain, all in the pursuit to establish schools in some of the most destitute regions of Afghanistan and Pakinstan. His theory was to replace guns with pencils and promote peace with books and education. After many attempts to climb K2 he found him self wounded and ill running out of food and water. He stumbled into a village were he was nursed back to health by the kind people. He one day noticed that there were 84 children in the village and no teacher, the village was to poor to afford $1 a day teacher. When he left he promised the village people that he would return and build a school.
  • Greg Mortenson takes us on a remarkable Journey in this book, which sometimes became dangerous, but his drive and passion would not let him fail or give up. This book is beautifully written I highly recommend that everyone read it. It has wonderful photography, just an all over feel good book, 2 thumbs up

Hi CC26 - Nice book review. Those reviews are a lot more difficult to put together than most writers might believe.

I have this book, but have yet to read it. If only there was all the time in the world to do whatever I want! LOL However, I was sadly disappointed that it has recently come to light that the author is being questioned for handling the financial affairs of the organization in a questionable manner. I saw a news report about this 2 wks or so. See: deadsearose's hub about him being under scrutiny.
