Through Black Skies and White Lies

Updated on June 22, 2017

You steal me

Forget to heal me

Tear inside

Through white lies

Devil's smile

Last a while

Shade me

For eternity

Choking on what seems to be

Dust from lack of apologies

I'm swimming in a black sea

Of what you could not promise me

You bleed me

Dry, bones I see

You just stand by

To watch me die

My hand out to you

Drowning deeper through

Black skies I only see

Feeling so desperately

Treading in dark waters

Following false martyrs

Hanging like a lose thread

I begin to lose tread

Choking on what seems to thrive

You're losing sense of life

Living for all the wrong things

Cover my eyes from what you bring

With you, I will not go

Staying with what I know

Feeling and going to where I'm free

Through the dark, to the light I can see

Pushing you away this time around

Pushing you all the way down

Pushing you to the ground

Pushing you to not make a sound

      Wonderfully done. Dark and poetic.

Thank you Finn, kind of what I was going for. Kind of more like a song lyric.

Wow, Fullerman, powerful stuff! I love the effect of the short sharp lines interwoven. Great job.

Thank you Shannon. Sometimes easiest way to express emotion is to write it out in a poem
