Through Dirty Thick Glass I Gest

Updated on February 15, 2017

Odd Noises Frequently Interrupt

Work is not work

The coal mines are left empty

I try to joke

The toddlers rule the roost

A poke, a poke

The powers to be ignore

Choose to celebrate

Cut short

Their greed superceedes

A winters bite

The endless fight

Reminded from a soldier who fell out of rank

I do my thing

I know, I know

Overtime doesn't pay the tiniest of bills

Boredom looms

The birds disappear and hide

Great big super powers dominate

The clash of two titans

Tigers roar

Come morning I will break free

In forty eight hours I will be confined

Captured and reminded

This is no life

The curtains hang down to the floor

Torn apart by random acts of violence

My own rags sag

Where a industrial society

Once super power

Now has a court jester

Click, click, click

As the masses moan

What happen to the beautiful

Forgotten freely

Where many graves line the walkway

You step and with little reguard

Walk a different way

No how could I not see

You are driven

Pampered by modern day luxuries

Your mention of dirty glass reminded me that once spring gets here I have tall, old-fashioned windows in my home and I have a total of 36 + of them to wash.
