Through Your Eyes Only

By Tony DeLorger © 2013

Beauty is simply everywhere,

for eyes willing to see it,

for hearts opened enough to the world,

and minds willing to consider,

other than the self.

What exists,

is more about what we can perceive,

rather than a stark reality,

limited by our acknowledgement,

our understanding.

Reality therefore,

never changes, just our view of it,

what we accept,

to fit within the paradigms

in which we invest belief.

This world can be a dark and hostile place,

filled with pain and suffering,

or simply a blank canvas,

on which we paint our thoughts and actions,

each the creation of our reality.

We choose to see reality,

see the miracles, the beauty and perfection,

and in doing so open a heart wider

to the reality of love,

and the joy that life can be.

The trials and tribulations in life,

are the teachers of knowledge,

about ourselves, about life itself,

giving us the opportunity,

to find the beauty beneath the pain.

The more beauty we see,

the less pain we experience,

the more joy we accept into our lives,

the less darkness we acknowledge,

and the less we experience.

Question your thinking,

because within it, the answer lies,

a simple choice, a positive resolve,

can transform a life, the world,

and love will reign, as is meant.

What a rational mind has is choice; and what follows, the ramifications of that choice. Always choose what you want to see and have in your life, not what you don't want. Thinking is a powerful creator.

Well said Lee, and you're right, experience is our greatest teacher. Unfortunately many people don't learn from their experiences nor understand what and why it happened. We do plant seeds, and those seeds can grow, but only if the person is ready to change. From my experience words can strike a chord in a soul and begin that path of change. That is my quest- to connect and perhaps gives readers something to think about. Take care

If life's taught me anything, it's that you can't tell anyone anything. They can only decide for themselves through experience that this is the way things ought to be. But maybe, after reading a piece like this and then having an experience, they have this piece in mind...and upon their experience they remember these words, and brilliantly think that they've stumbled upon this new way of living, of processing life, on their own. That's the only way they, we, really learn - the only way we come to adopt a new truth. As writers, we can plant this seed and through the light of their own increasing awareness, if they're increasing in their awareness, they can get it to grow. Then maybe they'll write about it.

Such kind words, Lee. Much appreciated. There is a common thread throughout my work, and apart from commenting about the human condition, I sometimes indulge myself by spouting my beliefs in the hope that people might connect and perhaps think more about their lives and what they want. Glad you related. Take care.

I found myself cheering you on halfway through this, and it just grew and grew to the end. Keep speaking this truth!! In its beautiful and attractive essence lies the heart of a rally cry - a call to people to wake up and learn how to live from life itself. Empowering and sobering - keep going Tony!!
