Tide of Reasons (poem)

Updated on July 13, 2016

A tide of reasons once came over me

And while it stayed I’d drift in it’s alright

As if the world were waiting for my light

A brash young man who thought that he could see

-

And reasons brought new meaning to delight

A freedom from responsibility

And blame a kiss for every tear set free

A tide of reasons I created night

-

A tide of reasons' reasons claimed my mind

But with each reason blame was on its own

-

Then reasons reasoned reasons were unkind

One reason held a truth to make me moan

-

So when I stood and left the tide behind

I found that I was standing all alone

Sometimes too many reasons can lead to a rapid undoing due to specific reasons.
